1. How do I rent a power bank from Ludo iCharge?
Approach a power bank station in one of the locations provided on this website. Download the app – available from the App Store or Google Play. After you download the app, you will login with your cell phone number and the app will store your number to make it easier for future rentals. The app will always be accessible. If you use web services, you will need to enter a valid cell phone number to receive an OTP which will be used to validate the cell phone number entered. Follow the app instructions and make payment with a credit card. Once payment has been made, the power bank will pop out. You have an hour to charge your phone and additional charges will apply if you use the charger for more than an hour.
2. How do I use a Ludo iCharge power bank?
Like most traditional power banks, ours come with built-in Android, Micro USB C and iOS cables. The cables can be found in a slot at the back of the power bank. To use, pull the cable out and plug it into your phone. iOS cables can charge an iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Micro USB cables can charge an Android phone, camera, GoPro, wireless headphones, etc., while Android cables can charge newer Android devices.
3. How much does it cost to rent a Ludo iCharge power bank?
Our rental rates vary depending on agreements with partners and landlords, so please check the screen for the specific station’s rate. The daily cap amount for all locations is R60 per 24 hours. You will be required to pay a deposit upfront. The rental charge will be deducted from the deposit
4. What happens to my deposit?
On successful return of the power bank, you will have the option of keeping your deposit in the Wallet or have it paid back to you. You will have to activate the option in the Wallet tab on the app menu. If you would like to keep the money in your Wallet, then you will only be required to top up to R100 the next time you rent, i.e. no deposit will be required. If you elect to have your deposit refunded, it will take between 3-14 business days to process back into your account, depending on which bank you bank with.
6. How do I return the Ludo iCharge power bank?
To return the power bank, insert it into a Ludo iCharge station slot until it clicks. Wait for the app to show your rental recap or contact in-app support if it doesn’t. Before returning, ensure it is a Ludo iCharge station by locating the Ludo iCharge logo. Visit Wallet tab on the app menu to choose whether you keep your deposit balance in your Wallet or you have it refunded to you.
7. My power bank doesn’t charge my device. What should I do?
Check if the cable is properly plugged in. Press the power button on the power bank (located on the side). Remove phone case if necessary. If the problem persists, contact support.
8. What If the iCharge Station is full or empty?
Locate another station via the app. Our network is growing. Please call or WhatsApp for the nearest Station or an alternative plan.
9. What if I lose or forget to return the power bank?
You will be charged up to the purchase price. Then your order will be closed, and you can keep the power bank. If the purchase price is not paid within 3 days of not returning the power bank, then the fee will be recovered from the credit card or alternatively the debt recovery processes will commence.
